Creation of posters to advertise an event at the American Writers Museum in Chicago.

About the Project

There’s something special about having someone’s autograph. Especially when it’s someone famous or well known like the three authors in this poster series. Mark Twain, Sylvia Plath, and Langston Hughes. These posters were created for the “It’s My Write: 3 Influential Writers” event at the American Writers Museum.

Project Goals

The first part of this project had us create a set of 3 posters for the American Writers Museum. The authors given to us were Mark Twain, Sylvia Plath, and Langston Hughes. There were few direct similarities between the three of them in their writings, so it was necessary to find a common theme and to show that theme in our final set of posters.

The second part of this project required the creation of a motion graphic or advertisement for this event at the American Writers Museum based on the completed poster set. The advertisement had to use music, the original poster, and follow the theme of the posters.
